We arrived after dark, anchored next to the "duck blind" and caught a crab pot, our first! We had no idea that we had since the prop has been sounding a little rough, we hit a submerge log on the Dismal Swamp earlier in the day.

We departed for Brunswick, GA but never made it. The bad fuel we had from Hope Town finally caught up with us and the engine died on the way out of St Mary's Sound. We were able to sail back to a spot to anchor, change the filter, bleed the fuel system and switch fuel tanks. We again tried but it was becoming evident that we wouldn't make it until after dark so we returned to Fernandina Beach.

Another uncomfortable crossing, at least in the beginning. It ended nicely and we arrived in Spanish Wells around 1600. We had to pick up one of Bandits mooring balls for the night. The marina was unable to get us in that night. The next day, Monday we moved to Papa Dock for $1/ft vs $2.50 at the marina.

After a week long stay in Great Harbor we departed for White Cay and Hoffman Cay. We met up with John and Penni (Solitude) and Kathie and Greg (Happy Destiny). What was supposed to be a couple of nights turned into 8 nights but we had a lot of fun with our new cruiser friends. There are so many beaches accessible from this anchorage. It was a great anchorage. Two of the beaches had lounge chairs and the blue hole was fun to see and swim in.

We arrived in the anchorage in the early am. I believe it was around 0730 once we were settled. We got our dinghy off the deck of the boat and took Roxy in for a walk. she was so happy and was acting like a puppy. It was so cute. I think she was feeling the pain later that night. Soldier Cay is a serene and beautiful anchorage. W saw sea turtles and a shark. There is a fire pit, 2 chairs and a table on the beach. Gotta love all of considerate cruisers that have made these nice accomodations [...]
for all to share. We discovered that our alternator was not charging the batteries during our overnight sail. This started to concern us as rain was coming and we would be without charging capabilities. We made a decision to go to Great Harbour Marina to see if we could get it repaired.
Bahamas Banks

Many people drop an anchor on the Moselle Banks but we decided to sail through the night. The seas were very calm and it was a pleasant night. We actually arrived to Soldier Cay area before sunrise but didn't want to risk navigating in shallow water in the dark.

We departed Dinner Key with the intention of going to North Key Largo on the inside route. About 1-2 hours into the trip we thought this would be the best window to sail all the way to Boca Chica. This was a last minute decision to stope here over No Name Harbor. No Name charges $20 per night to anchor and we're paying $29 for a mooring ball that comes with showers, laundry and a town to explore. (Thanksgiving so not a lot open) The mooring field was extremely rough with the north/east wind, No Name may have been a better choice but not if it was full. Maybe next time.

This is a small bay off the ICW, there is a State Park across the waterway, short and vey bumpy ride during the day. We walked the park area a couple of times. It would be a nice place to stop for a few days but we are pushing on to make it to the Keys before the 29th due to Amy's flight back to GA .
