Finally we departed from Boca Chica Marina and resumed our trek towards Miami. Destination Virginia. The day started out with beautiful seas and sky but that was not to be the norm for the day. As usual the weather and sea conditions were not as forecast. The seas were a little rough and we were beating into an East wind. Roxy was having a rough time getting her sea legs back. She was sick and this always gives us concern.

By 2:30 we knew we were far behind our desired location of Boot Key. We had to pull in our sails and motor if we were going to get to an anchorage before dark. We made it to Bahia Honda State Park around 1930. Bahia is about 10 nm shy of Boot Key. We set our anchor and made some dinner and started our research for the next leg. To add to our challenges the park rangers said we could not come to shore since the Marina was closed. The dogs were going to have to do their business on the boat. Phoebe has no problem with that but Roxy does not like to use the faux grass. We ended our evening admiring the view, drinking wine and eating cheese.
